You have 120 seconds until the landlord shows up. Three goblins are staring at the counter — one wants grilled eel, another demands a specific juice, and the third has just left a deposit you need to clean before it costs you a customer. The music ticks on. This is a standard shift in Goblin Sushi.
Set Up the Kitchen
Downloaded builds run on macOS 13.0 and later, with native support for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. On a 2024 Mac mini with an M4 chip under macOS Tahoe, the game launches without Rosetta prompts and holds a steady frame rate through busy dinner rushes with all 23 unique customer types on screen.
Manage the Menu
Controls are straightforward with a mouse and keyboard — clicking through the bar upgrades, ingredient purchases, and the more than 20 sushi types, 3 grilled dishes, 3 juices, and 3 poop variations. The roguelike structure ties progress to each run; a bad shift means starting over, but the more than 100 upgrades and 15 perks carry decision weight between attempts. Rent is due every two minutes, so the pace never lets up.
Serve the Goblins
The game handles localised text in Russian, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, French, and Japanese, all selectable from the settings. As an Early Access title with a planned development period of a year or longer, performance on Apple Silicon is already solid, with no apparent frame pacing issues during extended sessions.
A Night on the Counter
A player who sinks hours into deckbuilders and time-management sims will find a familiar rhythm here, but the pressure comes from a different angle. It is not just about speed — it is about reading the goblins. One run might start with three picky customers in a row: a goblin in a top hat who refuses anything with caterpillars, followed by twins who order identical grilled frog plates. The logical move is to buy the grilling station upgrade immediately, but that leaves only 45 seconds of rent buffer. The next shift brings a slug-heavy order and a sudden demand for juice. Now the counter is dirty and the music is warning of the two-minute mark. The roguelike layer turns these moments into lessons — the next run, that player unlocks a perk that auto-cleans messes every third customer. The shift feels different. The same goblin twins arrive, but this time the bar is ready.
Ignoring Rent While Stacking Fancy Rolls
New players tend to treat Goblin Sushi like a pure cooking dash. They build the fanciest menu items first and ignore rent, then wipe out three shifts in a row with no upgrades banked. The rent clock is not a suggestion — it ends runs. Another common trap is hoarding ingredients: buying a full stock of chicken heads before checking which goblin types are actually arriving wastes coins that could have gone toward a perk. A third mistake is ignoring poop deposits. They stack quickly in a busy shift, and a single uncleaned counter tile can drive away the next customer, costing both income and tip potential.
Native ARM Binary Confirmed on M1–M4
Does it run on an M1 Mac without Rosetta? Yes. The binary includes native ARM support. Tested on an M4 chip, but the structure handles M1 and newer natively. Intel Macs get the x86-64 build.
Is this a complete game? It is in Early Access with a planned development window of one year or more. The current version ships more than 20 sushi types, 23 customer types, 3 grilled dishes, 3 juices, and over 100 upgrades. It is a full playable loop, not a demo.
How much space does it take? The downloaded disk image and the extracted app are compact — expect a lightweight install typical of 2D restaurant sims. The exact size varies by build, but it stays under the threshold where you would need to clear a drive.
Can I play it offline? Yes. There is no activation step, no login prompt, and no server check. Launching from the Applications folder is all it takes. This makes the goblin sushi mac full version a good fit for travel or patchy connections.
What languages are supported? Twelve localisations ship in the build: Russian, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, French, and Japanese. The audio track is instrumental music only — no spoken dialogue to translate.
